Oh The Irony! August 27, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — 家利 @ 5:18 pm

Just a couple of week ago, I was rambling about my concerns of job offers coming too late.. ie. after I accept another, a “seemingly better” one comes along.

That, just bloody happened. The bigger irony? Its the same person I rejected 2 years ago. Exact same situation.

I want to cry, buy 4D also not so accurate.. SIGH!

Random Hello August 27, 2008

On a random rainy afternoon, while waiting for a random bus to a random location, to go for my random facial, and because of yesterday’s random pluckingoutkeyboardkeystoclean, my spacebar is now randomly wonky as well.

Oh well.

From a nice lady at Chanel who arranged to have it delivered on Friday. So ends my erm, little ordeal.

Fast forward to yesterday evening, when we walked into a rather packed Canele. Approached one of the counter staff anyway, when Norman asked if we could have a table. The bespectacled young man behind the cash register looked up, turned his head and looked over his shoulder (check blind spot??), and then.. “Err, no.”

I’d love to meet your hiring manager! *clears throat* How does a simple “We’re currently full at the moment, but if you don’t mind waiting for a while.. Perhaps we can seat you in 15 minutes” sound? And of course, checking with your colleagues before you tell us no.. Not just check blind spot ah!

I attended a meet other singles event. *coughs* I am such a goddamned liar. I was really was there for the cheap screwdriver to show support for our organiser friend.

In our little experiment, I entered the club after my two toyboys. Hypothesis: No one will dare approach you – No guts.

I hovered near the entrance, chatting with one of the organisers while the guys settled chose a prime seat. While my fears about strangers with weird conversations did not materialise, the hypothesis proved true. My toyboys insisted about heads turning, but these attendees stuck to their groups of friends.

I joined the guys at their table anyway. And interestingly enough, we were told later, comments about us being overdressed – In our dress shirts and jeans! Hello? Should I be in crocs and shorts?

Dusk & Summer August 22, 2008

She smiled in a big way, the way a girl like that smiles
When the world is hers and she held your eyes
Out in the breezeway down by the shore in the lazy summer
And she pulled you in, and she bit your lip, and she made you hers
She looked deep into you as you lay together quiet in the grasp of dusk and summer

But you’ve already lost
When you only had barely enough to hang on

And she combed your hair, and she kissed your teeth
And she made you better than you’d been before
She told you bad things you wished you could change in the lazy summer
And she told you, laughing down to her core, so she would not cry as she lay in your lap
She said “nobody here can live forever, quiet in the grasp of dusk and summer”

But you’ve already lost
When you only had barely enough to hang on

She said, “no one is alone the way you are alone”
And you held her looser than you would have if you ever could have known
Some things tie your life together, slender threads and things to treasure
Days like that should last and last and last

But you’ve already lost
When you only had barely enough of her to hang on

They’ve been my earfood these couple of days. :)

Well I’m generally very pleased with whatever’s going on in life at the moment.. Currently everything is, or seems to be falling into place rather nicely. I couldn’t ask for more.

A tad moody though, for tonight, as the thought sinks in..

Mmm, better not start dwelling on it.

After a hearty meal at an Indonesian place, Girl pokes and nibbles at a leftover cucumber slice. Boy-who-does-not eat-veg points at a forsaken tomato wedge.

Boy: Why don’t you eat the tomato, its good for your skin ma..
Girl: Don’t want.

Boy: How about you eat one and I’ll eat one?

Girl: Okay. (chuckles)
Boy: Damnit.

Boy hesitates, but proceeds to pick up the tomato.

Girl: It’s okay, you don’t have to eat if you don’t want to.
Boy: No I’ll try..

Girl thinks Boy’s expression was priceless. =D

Potting around. August 14, 2008

The four-leave clover pot my sister chose and planted when I got back has sprouted already. And so, thought it was a good day to get down to “planting” one of the little flower pots from Amsterdam. Mine are Myosotis, and Google returns them to be forget-me-nots. Hope they’d be happy campers on the kitchen window sill! =)
